Acne is a condition that makes the skin becomes red, rash, and even irritation. This condition can happen to anyone at any age, especially in adolescents who had experienced puberty. Acne is usually found in the skin. However, often also seen on the chest, back, neck, and upper arms in adolescents and teenagers.
This skin problem often occurs because of the physical and psychological changes associated with the development dramatic one's body image. Besides being able to make a person lose his confidence, acne also can make depression. If left untreated, acne can be more severe and cause scarring of the skin and the more difficult to treat.
Along with its presence in the community, developing also myths about acne. Two of them are:
- First, Acne is not the result of a rare facial wash (uncleanliness)
In other words, acne is not caused by too much dirt on the skin or pores. But, too often rub face that make acne worse.
- Acne is not caused by fast food, chocolate or fatty foods.
Several factors contribute to the development of acne. The main problem is the abnormal growth of cells in the hair follicles leading to the formation of a plug or blackheads (comedones). Blackheads impede normal movement of the hair, skin cells, and fat (sebum), causing enlargement and eventual rupture of the hair follicle. Hair follicle rupture of oil and dirt and then experienced swelling and cause redness (inflammation).
